Professional experience within the office

As he now currently serves as a litigation Partner at Kirkland  & Ellis, Chicago office, Jon Bunge comes forth with a wide range of accomplishments and an extremely long list of relevant experience that has helped him to reach the professional level at which he holds today. Some of his many professional accomplishments include serving as a former federal prosecutor and serving as a Supreme Court law clerk. When looking deeper into his litigation experience, you’ll find that it is comprised of handling both state and federal commercial cases. In fact, over the years he has tried over thirty varying cases, some of which lasted more than several weeks each. During most of these cases, including those of a long length, Mr. Bunge served as the first chair litigator.

As these cases have varied in subject matter quite a lot, with cases ranging from contract disputes, litigation under the Uniform Commercial Code and fraud as well as other cases under the federal racketeering statute also known as the RICO, Jon Bunge has shown his ability to handle several different types of procedures. In addition to these cases, Jon Bunge has also handled many different appeals and appellate arguments, including about twenty different appellate arguments that were brought before the federal appellate bench. With most of his cases, whether long or short, he has seen success. In fact, he has seen success in each and every one of his appeals.

He has also spent time working on several different commercial disputes where he has represented both small businesses as well as large multinational corporations, proving that he can handle the different circumstances surrounding both.

Experience working with the Attorney’s Office

Before he began his career at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Mr. Bunge spent years working as the Deputy Chief of the General Crimes Division of Chicago’s Untied States Attorney’s Office. During his time working at the United States Attorney’s Office, he worked on various high profile cases, thus raising his level of experience.

Jon Bunge graduated from Princeton University in the year 1984 before completing his J.D. in 1988 from the University of Chicago.
