Types of Social Media Platforms

Social media is the place that we go to be social. We go there to meet the rest of the world. This would explain why there are so many social media platforms in the world. These are however divided. Despite that they are all used for social purposes, some are more for video others for microblogging. Mind blowing right? Allow us to elaborate.

Social Networking

The main purpose of social media is social networking. That is where the social in social media comes in. You get to socialize and meet people from all over the world. The main platforms that are used for social networking include Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google+. This is where you can really get social on social media and enjoy talking to your friends and colleagues. You can even hang out with your pals from the best casino sites on these platforms.

Microblogging

Microblogging is the process of making short, frequent posts. It is also combined with instant messaging. For all those with fast fingers, this is where they come out to play. Microblogging is also another form of social media. If you haven’t guessed by now, the most common microblogging platforms include Twitter and Tumblr.

Photo Sharing

It would not be social media if there were not a photo or two involved. There are also platforms that are social media but for photos. Since pictures are worth a thousand words, this is where you let your pictures tell the story. Platforms for this type of social media include Instagram, Snapchat, and Pinterest.

Video Sharing

Need a more to say and photos, microblogging, as well as talking, is not enough? Then share a video. Go on a live stream and tell the world exactly what you think. There are social media platforms that are used specifically for video sharing. These include Facebook Live, Periscope and Vimeo and YouTube with video tutorials for how to place your bet, how to cook or how the world of online sports betting work. You will notice that on these platforms, the videos do all the talking.
